Product Description PROPOSAL, THE (BLU-RAY W/DIGI COPY)
Amazon.com Rom-com favorite Sandra Bullock and the affably charming Ryan Reynolds’s superb chemistry turn The Proposal from otherwise standard romantic-comedy fare to one that is entertaining and sure to garner laughs. Margaret (Sandra Bullock) is a workaholic, tyrannical book editor (reminiscent of The Devil Wears Prada) who suddenly finds her career in jeopardy as she faces deportation back to Canada. Her solution is to simply fake an engagement to her unsuspecting assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), who in turn blackmails her for a promotion. However, when Margaret is forced to head to Alaska with Andrew to visit his family in an effort to make their story believable to the deportation officers, they soon realize that their plan may not be so simple after all. The supporting cast of Dad (Craig T. Nelson), Mom (Mary Steenburgen), and kooky Grandma (Betty White, still a scene-stealer at 87) is great casting that makes for many amusing scenes. Bottom line: witty Reynolds and Bullock are perfect sparring partners for each other and not half bad to look at either. --Lisanne Chastain

The Proposal September 6, 2010 Ms. Diane M. Mcdonald This is a most enjoyable movie. It has enough twists to the plot to keep one watching. More like Sandra Bullock's movies of late.
love it September 3, 2010 Joan Mendel (Phoenix AZ.) I enjoyed my purchase, it was easy great product and arrived early. The seller discribed it well in the write up so I knew exactly what I was geting and was happy on the transaction.
The Proposal September 1, 2010 Jennifer Kim I'm no big movie critic or anything but I liked this move so much I wanted to recommend it. I'm only adding my opinion to the pile because I'm a bit suprised that so far no one's mentioned the hilarious comic contributions of some of the stars like the guy from the show the office, the local shopkeeper and caterer who freelances as a male stripper and a wedding guy, and the great character actor Denis Harley as the immigration guy with the go getum attitude. This movie is worth the price just for the Reynolds and Harley do their thing. For those who don't have digital, dont pay the extra moeny, just to get the extra extras (a rather mediocre outtakes/goofing off reel, 2 very short deleted scenes and a poorly concocted all-wrong, too-long alternate ending). If I had it to do over I'd have gone for the cheaper single disc version. Overall, I agree with just about everything said in the other rave reviews. Bullock's at her best; ditto Harley. Great scenery, hilarious story, good chemistry and great contributions from Steenburgen, Nelson and the incomparable Betty White, who's needs to be put out to pasture.
Why Letterbox? August 30, 2010 bunky1965 If a DVD is in Letterbox format, why is it not so noted? I hate Letterbox and was very disapointed to see that this Blu-Ray was Letterbox.
The Proposal August 29, 2010 Thomas C. Kesler (Salisbury, NC, USA) I like the way I ordered and received this DVD. I have watched it several times.
